aroo lab builds Aroo One — a collaborative robot that performs the mechanical, tedious part of an ultrasound exam on its own. A complete, standardized study, captured wherever it's needed and read by a specialist anywhere.

The problem

Ultrasound is the most available imaging in medicine, and the hardest to staff.

Register & position

Depth cameras locate the patient and the target anatomy, then the arm moves in above them along a collision-aware path, with no manual setup and no landmarks drawn by hand.

3D surface scan

The probe sweeps head to toe to build a 3D map of the body surface. That map plans the exam and the exact path the transducer will follow, a fast reconnaissance pass before a single image is captured.

Autonomous ultrasound

The transducer lowers into force-controlled contact and runs the full protocol, sweeping the site continuously and auto-capturing every required view. Images, loops, and measurements post to PACS the moment the study ends.

We design the cobot hardware, write the vision and autonomy software, and build the systems in-house, keeping robotics, imaging, and clinical work close together.

Where we are. Aroo One is an investigational device. It has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. FDA or any other regulatory authority, and is not yet available for clinical use.
